Business Development – Outside Sales

Position Summary

As a member of the Sales & Marketing team, the Outside Sales role is crucial for expanding and establishing our presence in the market while creating a network of loyal customers. The primary objective of this position is to develop and execute strategies that increase the number of opportunity “looks” generated monthly. These opportunities are then passed on to the inside sales team for quoting and capture. The ultimate goal is to fill the opportunity pipeline sufficiently to meet organizational sales objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage daily with focus to find new opportunities.
  • Execute operational plans.
  • Work to expand current customer sales.
  • Document relevant activities and targets.
  • Follow-up actively on all leads and quotes regardless of source.
  • Provide consistent feedback to Sales & Marketing Team.
  • Support trade show activity as requested.

Expectations

  • Execute in accordance to direction.
  • Travel is an integral part of Outside Sales, you will be expected to travel up to 3 wks/mo.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and staff.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Stay organized and maintain records of all activities.
  • Engage in any and all company provided training.
  • Be open to learning – always and about everything.
  • Ask for clarity when needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, 2-year degree in related field preferred.
  • Composite Industry Experience of at least 5 years
  • Good communication written and verbal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and thorough in all tasks.
  • Able to solve problems and/or manage conflict in a positive, respectful manner.
  • Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Authorized to work in USA and prepared to travel without limits.
  • Pass Background Check, Credit Check and Drug Test.
