CIP offers materials that are excellent electrical insulators providing volume resistivity of 4.2 x 10^15 ohm-cm, and dielectric strengths up to 240 volts/mil. They do not conduct heat or electrical current like metallic materials. In many cases this benefit is used to provide not only a bearing surface, but also to prevent galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals.
